Mercy, as Elvis would say!  It’s hard to believe it is August already.  Our summer is certainly flying by!

 

Just a reminder, our summer store hours are still in affect.  Sharynn’s Quilt Box will be closed on Monday’s during the summer.  We will continue to be open Tuesday – Friday, 10 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.  Thimbleberries Club will continue to meet on Monday evenings at 5:30 as scheduled each month.  Please keep this change in mind when planning your next visit to our shop.  We will resume opening on Monday’s in the fall.

 

 

New Fabrics in the Shop:

 

·        Moda’s Honeycomb Harvest fabrics, panels and charm squares are flying out the door!  We did receive some additional coordinating fabrics in this line – be sure and check them out. 

 

·        Moda’s Twigs & Berries is a wonderful fall fabric line – the colors are incredible and will make beautiful fall projects.

 

·        Moda’s Fabulous Fall is a collection of charm squares and the name says it all – they are in fabulous fall prints and colors.  Charm squares are wonderful to work with and there are lots of great patterns created just for charm squares – be sure and pick up a pack or two of this collection!

 

·        Northcott’s Califon for Mark Lipinski Home is an absolutely fantastic collection of fabrics with wonderful geometric patterns in blues, yellows, oranges, greens and purples – throw in a couple of bolts of striped fabric, a terrific border print and you have a collection for a gorgeous quilt!  Another tempting line is the black and white version of the Califon fabric line – these fabrics are equally stunning in the black and white.  Be sure and check these fabrics out on your next visit.

 

·        Lyndhurst brings us a wonderful collection of fabrics for the little one’s in your life!  Be sure and take a look at Ethan Michael and Emma Louise.  They feature a panel print and soft coordinates to go with them, perfect for the little guy or gal!

 

·        Thimbleberries Play Date is another great panel fabric for kids and features delightful coordinates in wonderful vintage colors and designs.

 

·        Free Spirit and Donna Dewberry have teamed up to bring us gorgeous florals with a beautiful border print, butterflies, great coordinates all in wonderful summer colors – pinks, purples, greens and oranges.  These are so bright and cheery and will surely put a smile on your face!

 

 

Be sure and stop in and browse through our fabrics, patterns and books!  There are lots of wonderful projects just waiting for you to apply your talents and expertise.

 

 

Clubs & Classes

 

Kids Club – Kids Club will begin on September 27th.  Watch the next newsletter for announcement of the exact time and project information.  The kids will be making cool school accessories this season!

 

The Janome Embroidery Club will meet on Thursday, September 4th, from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.  Pre-registration and signup are required.   

 

P.M.S. Friday – The next PMS session will be on Friday night, September 26th, 2008, beginning at 5:30 p.m.  This is a pitch in so please bring your favorite snack or food and join us for an evening full of fun!  Pre-registration and signup are required.  (We have dismissed the August session due to Labor Day Weekend).

 

Thimbleberries Club – The next meeting will be Saturday, September 13th, starting at 9 a.m. and Monday evening, September 15th at 5:30 p.m.  Remember to bring show and tell.  Show and tell is one of our favorite parts of Thimbleberries.  It is always fun to see what you all are working on. 

 

If you, or anyone you know, are interested in being part of our Thimbleberries Club, you can sign up anytime, all year long. 

 

We have grouped all the Thimbleberries fat quarters, charm squares and jelly rolls together in one location.  We have pre-cut 2 ½” strips and charm squares of Thimbleberries fabrics for use in your projects.  These are located in a display on the left as you go into the classroom.

 

Note:  If you have signed up for Marti Michell Block of the Month, you need to stop in or call and pre-pay for the 1^st quarter, if you are paying by the quarter, or the entire amount if you are paying for the full year.  The first session will be on Thursday, August 21^st, from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.  Please bring your cutting mat, rotary cutter, ruler and set M templates to class.  This year’s block of the month is full, so we cannot accept any more signups. 

In September and all following months our Block of the Month will meet on the second Thursday of each month.  September 11^th will be our second session.  We had a scheduling problem in August and had to postpone it one week.

 

 

 

 

CHECK YOUR CALENDAR AND LET US KNOW!

 

 

We have scheduled Thimbleberries Camp for October 24^th and 25^th.  The camp will meet in Vernon at The Jennings County Historical Society Museum in the upstairs rooms.  Please let us know immediately if you would be interested in attending this camp.  This camp is open to anyone – you do not have to be a Thimbleberries member to attend.  You can come as early as 3 p.m. on Friday, the 24^th.  We will sew until 10 p.m., depart and return Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m.  Dinner will be served Friday evening at 6:00 p.m., breakfast Saturday morning will be served at 8:30 a.m. and lunch will be at 12:00 noon.  We will sew between breakfast and lunch and again after lunch until 5:00 p.m.  You do not have to stay until 5:00 p.m..  If you are a Thimbleberries Club member, you can work on any UFO’s that use Thimbleberries fabrics.  If you are not a Thimbleberries Club member, you will be using the quilt pattern “Party Mix” for your project.  If you want to attend the camp, you must register and pay a deposit no later than August 30^th.  The balance will need to be paid in full by September 30^th.

 

We have scheduled a retreat at Clifty Falls Inn in Madison .  This will be February 20, 21 and 22 – a Friday afternoon, all day Saturday and Sunday.  This will be a time to sit around and work on UFO’s, chat with other quilters and just relax and enjoy some time away.  The retreat fee includes your room for Friday and Saturday night (2 occupants to a room), breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday and lunch on Sunday.  Friday evening’s dinner will be your responsibility.  The retreat will end Sunday afternoon.  If you are interested in attending this retreat, please signup and pay your deposit by October 20^th.  The balance will be due by January 20^th.  Space is limited – if you want to attend, please signup soon.

 

 

 

Other information

 

Remember to have your fabric cards punched at the time of each purchase of regular price yardage.  When the card is filled, you receive a $25 gift certificate towards any purchase in the shop.

 

Birthday Club:  Take advantage of our Birthday club and get a one-time discount on pattern, books, notions and fabric anytime during the month of your birthday.

 

Cancellation Policy – We require that you give a five (5) day notice when canceling a class.  If you must cancel a class and give us the required notice, an in-store credit will be given.  No credits will be issued for no-shows or anyone failing to give the appropriate notice.  If we cancel a class, we will give you an in-store credit or a refund.  There is a minimum and maximum class size.  Be sure to sign up early for the class you are interested so as to guarantee a spot for yourself.
