Where does the time go!? School has started already and September is here. I’m think-ing Christmas and the holiday season are approaching much too fast! Just a reminder, Sharynn’s Quilt Box continues to be closed on Monday’s. We will be open Tuesday – Friday, 10 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Please keep this change in mind when planning your next visit to our shop.
For your shopping pleasure and convenience: All of our embroidery cards, excluding Jenny Haskins, continue to be on sale at 30% discount. Now is the time to purchase that special card you have been wanting.
Check out our sale fabric. All sale fabric is a minimum 1-yard cut. There are some wonderful fabrics on sale and at a 40% discount, it’s a great way to add to your stash! If you haven’t been in for a while, new fabrics have been added to the sale table.

As long as Moda continues to release such wonderful fabrics, we are going to be increasing our stash! Here are some new lines that have just arrived:
Breakfast at Tiffany’s – wonderful, soft colors featuring lots of peach, cream, greens, aqua and touches of brown Bliss – delightful grouping with lots of polka dots and flowers and the colors are very “girlie” in pinks, reds, blues and greens Happy – the name says it all! This is a whimsical, “happy” palette of designs with a wide variety of patterns and colors, all bright and cheerful Makin’ New Friends - if you like snowmen and snowflakes, you need to check out this new line! Moda has lots of snowmen, snowflakes and trees – take a panel and add the coordinates in red, greens and beiges and create a wonderful winter project. Woodland Holiday is a beautiful group in classic Christmas colors featuring poinsettias, cardinals and pine boughs.

CLUBS
P.M.S. Friday – The next PMS will be Friday, September 24th, 2010, beginning at 5:30 p.m. This is a pitch in so please bring your favorite snack or food and join us for an evening full of fun! The P.M.S. sessions are very popular and well attended. It is a fun time to finish a UFO or start a new project and visit! Pre-registration and signup are required.
Thimbleberries Club – The next meeting will be Saturday, September 11th, 2010, start-ing at 9 a.m. Remember to bring show and tell! As Rose promised, she will try to demo a new notion/ruler each meeting. For the September meeting, she will be showing us how to use Trace ‘n Create quilt templates from Nancy Zieman to create Dresden Plates and Fans. Once you learn the technique, you will be able to create plates and fans in 12 sizes.
Attention Kids Club Members – Kids Club is starting back up in September! The first session will be on Saturday, 9/25.
Beginners Class will be from 10 – 12 a.m. You will be making a scarf.
Advanced Class will meet from 1-3 p.m. You will be making a pillow – you can choose from a kitten or dog. You need to purchase a pattern and fabric for you pillow ahead of class.
Pre-registration and signup are required.
Embroidery Club – The next session for the Crazy Compass BOM will be on Tuesday, September 28th. The day session will be from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. and the evening session will be from 5:30-8:30 p.m.
CLASSES
Stash Busters Class is scheduled for Tuesday, September 14th, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. There are several examples of projects in the shop. Use your scraps and/or stash to create delightful miniature quilts! Pre-registration and signup are required.
Happy Hollow Designs: Join Beth Steiner on Thursday, September 16th, and create your choice of an Espresso candle mat or ornament! The mat or ornament come in a pre-packaged “coffee” cup and have all the fabric and embellishments you need to complete your project. The class will be from 5:30-8:30 p.m. If there is enough interest, a day class will also be offered. Pre-registration and signup are required.
Remember to bring in your “going green” bag each time you shop so you can sign up for our monthly drawing. The winner for the July drawing was Malinda Bott! Congratulations Malinda! The winner of our August drawing was Charlo Jones!! Congratulations Charlo!
IF you haven’t purchased one of our Green Bags, they are a wonderful tote bag with pockets and are embroidered with the shop name, address and phone number. You can purchase them at the shop and each time you shop with us and have your green bag with you, you will get to fill out an entry for our monthly drawing. In addition, we will ran-domly have special sales throughout the year for our “bag ladies”. If you don’t have your bag yet, be sure and pick one up the next time you visit us! We have our next “Bag Ladies” special sale planned – watch the newsletters for an-nouncement of date and time for this sale.

The Fall Retreat will be held again at the Clifty Falls Inn. The dates are October 29, 30 and 31. Call or stop in for more information. A $50 deposit will reserve your spot! These retreats fill up quickly so be sure and sign up soon if you want to attend. There are a few openings left but you must signup and have your full payment in by Septem-ber 23rd to participate in the fall retreat.
We are also taking reservations for the 2011 Retreat. This retreat will again be at the magnificent Clifty Falls Inn. It will be February 18-20, 2011. $50 will reserve your spot.
The Southern Indiana Quilt Guild presents their 2010 “Fall Festival of Quilts” quilt show. It will be Friday and Saturday, September 10th & 11th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is being held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 11th and Market Sts., New Albany, Indiana. The guild is raffling a quilt made by the guild members. There will be vendors, prizes, and boutique items. For more information, contact:

Chip off the Block Shelby County Extension Homemakers’ Quilt Club is having a Sew Much Fun Seminar October 16, 2010. This will be held at the Family Arts Building on the Shelby County Fair Grounds. HELP make hospital stays as pleasant as possible for chronically ill children. Join ConKerr Cancer (Riley Hospital) in their mission to brighten the lives of sick children in hospitals through homemade pillowcases. Making a pillowcase is easy, rewarding and it can have a positive impact on a child in need. You can help by making a cheerful pillowcase, donate fabric or other sewing materials, or donate funds to help in the purchase of supplies. Sharynn’s Quilt Box is a designated drop off point for finished pillowcases. If you want to participate, drop by today for further details and a free pattern for the pillowcase along with directions on laundering and packaging. If you can’t make a pillowcase and want to help, stop by for information on donating materials and/or money for materials.
Other information
Remember to have your purchase cards punched at the time of each purchase of all regular priced merchandise. When the card is filled, you receive a $25 gift certificate towards any purchase in the shop.
Birthday Club: Take advantage of our Birthday club and get a one-time discount on fabric, pattern, books, and notions anytime during the month of your birthday.
Cancellation Policy – We require that you give a five (5) day notice when canceling a class. If you must cancel a class and give us the required notice, an in-store credit will be given. No credits will be issued for no-shows or anyone failing to give the appropriate notice. If we cancel a class, we will give you an in-store credit or a refund. There is a minimum and maximum class size. Be sure to sign up early for the class you are interested to guarantee a spot for yourself.
