Happy Fall! Hard to believe summer is officially over!

Sharynn’s Quilt Box continues to be closed on Sunday’s and Monday’s.  We are open Tuesday – Friday, 10 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

NEW FABRIC

We have lots of new fabrics in the shop and lots more due to arrive soon – be sure and stop by and browse!  We have lots of samples using the new fabrics.

CLUBS


Sharynn’s Stitching Friends. The next meeting will be Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 9:00 am. Be sure and bring Show and Tell.

NOTE: We have switched the date of the Stitching Friends meetings back to the second Saturday of each month beginning in September.

Beginning Tuesday, September 23, 5:30-7:30 pm, we will be starting a new “Sit and Sew” Club. After September, it will meet the second Tuesday of each month from 5:30 – 7:30pm for 12 months. Club requires purchase of the book “Simply Charming Seasons” and $5 for each session you participate in. The book features a different wall quilt for each month of the year. You will have the opportunity to purchase a kit for each month containing the fabrics featured in the store sample OR you can choose to purchase fabrics of your choice at a 20% discount OR use fabrics from your stash. Simply sign up for the month’s session, bring your machine and “sit and sew”!

The first wall quilt will be October’s. It is on display in the shop so be sure and stop by and take a peek! If you want a kit like the store sample, let us know when you register for that month’s session and your kit will be ready at Sit and Sew.

NOTE: Pre-registration and signup will be required for each month’s session. You do not have to sign up for all 12 months.

 

CLASSES

The next Hoop Sisters Block of the Month, Jacobean Journey, began on Tuesday, September 9. It will meet the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 5:30-7:30pm. Samples are on display in the store. There is still time to sign up if you are interested. The designs are breathtaking!

         

SWEET SIXTEEN CLASS – In this class, we will start at the beginning with basting your tops and end with the binding. In the middle, we will learn how to achieve the perfect stitch/tension. Using rulers, putting designs down, marking, threads, couching, oh my! And could there be more? Absolutely! Check out the stitch regulator.   If you would like to take this class on your own machine, you are welcome to bring it with you.

The class will be Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 10am – 3pm. Harriet Carpanini will be your instructor. The class fee is $100.

SHARYNN’S FALL RETREAT will be November 21-23, 2014 at Clifty Falls Inn in Madison, IN.

NOTE: The November retreat is full.

HELP make hospital stays as pleasant as possible for chronically ill children. Join ConKerr Cancer (Riley Hospital) in their mission to brighten the lives of sick children in hospitals through homemade pillowcases. Making a pillowcase is easy, rewarding and it can have a positive impact on a child in need. You can help by making a cheerful pillowcase, donate fabric or other sewing materials, or donate funds to help in the purchase of supplies. Sharynn’s Quilt Box is a designated drop off point for finished pillowcases. If you want to participate, drop by today for further details and a free pattern for the pillowcase along with directions on laundering and packaging. If you can’t make a pillowcase and want to help, stop by for information on donating materials and/or money for materials.

Other information
Cancellation Policy – We require that you give a five (5) day notice when canceling a class. If you must cancel a class and give us the required notice, an in-store credit will be given. No credits will be issued for no-shows or anyone failing to give the appropriate notice. If we cancel a class, we will give you an in-store credit or a refund. There is a minimum and maximum class size. Be sure to sign up early for the class you are interested to guarantee a spot for yourself.
