Calling all quilters…the 8^th Annual ACCUQUILT Quilt Block Design Contest begins August 1^st! Design a quilt block using the ACCUQUILT GO! CUTTER dies of your choice. Voting will be August 23 – September 5^th. Winners will be announced on September 15^th. Over $15,000.00 in prizes will be awarded. For more information go to accuquilt.com/contest. On September 16^th , we will participate in NATIONAL JELLY ROLL DAY!! If you are a quilter, you collect fabric. Right? We all do. We call it our Stash! And we love it! You may also collect “pre-cuts”. Those tempting packages of many pieces of fabric already cut for you. We call them layer cakes, dessert rolls, honey buns and jelly rolls. We buy these thinking we’ll make something but we let them linger in our “stash”.

This is where Project Jelly Roll comes in. We here at Sharynn’s are participating in this project. Mark this date on your calendar. We will set up our classroom and you can bring in those jelly rolls and make something for yourself, for a gift for someone special, or make it and give it to a charity! It can be anything you want. We will have more details and will share with you as we get them. Call and reserve your spot now.

EMBROIDERY CLASS will be August 9^th—9-12noon and 1-3p.m. We will be making a Zippity-Zip Key Fob. You will need to bring:

1)    5x7 hoop or larger

2)    Cut away stabilizer

3)    Black thread

4)    Paper tape
