Sharynn, Darrell, & Pat are back from Janome Institute’s City Limits Tour. Janome is one of the best sewing machines on the market today. They had a great learning experience with classes on all the new machines. They introduced the new Horizon MC15000 Quilt Maker! Sharynn, Darrell, & Pat got to make a “project” on the Horizon MC15000! It has lots of new features. This machine is an awesome machine and we have it in our shop now. Be sure to come see it. We also got to see the new MC6700P. This machine is a “workhorse” and has an 11” throat for all those quilts. Lots of new things are coming in September. We’ll keep you up to date. September will be a very busy month here at Sharynn’s.

We have lots of new fabric in the shop and we still have some FLANNELS on sale for 20% off. We have lots of patterns that would make wonderful quilts, throws, etc.
SAVE THE DATE: SEPTEMBER 16th. We will be participating in National Jelly Roll Day. If you are a quilter, you collect fabric! Right?? We all do it. We call it our “stash”. If you are like us you love the pre-cuts. These are handy little things such as layer cakes, dessert rolls, honey buns, and jelly rolls. We buy them not really knowing what we will do with them but just couldn’t pass them up. But they are sitting in our “stash” and well, they need to be put to good use. SO…on September 16th from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. you can sew in our classroom and work on these UFOs. There is no charge to come and sew. Circle this date, mark it with a RED star or whatever it takes…just come and sew with us. We will have “treats” and some surprises. Reserve your spot now!!
Another SAVE THE DATE: November 1st Sharynn’s Quilt Box will be sponsoring a Superior Threadology class. It will be a 3 hour class here in our classroom. The cost is $20.00. It will be interactive, hands on workshop guided by a Superior Certified Threadologist. Students will have the opportunity to explore and use a variety of Superior Threads. We are limited to 20 students. You will receive a thread kit and you MUST pre-register. This is an intermediate to advanced class. You will be sewing so you must be familiar with your machine. During the event the Superior Certified Threadologist will provide threads for all students to use. We are limited to 20 people so sign up today by calling the shop.
Student kits will include:
1) Educational DVD, Thread Therapy with Dr. Bob
2) Pack of 5 titanium-coated Superior Topstitch needles in assorted sizes.
3) Two pre-made sewing blocks to use in the class
4) Thread workshop handout
5) “What Makes Us Superior”, 108 page color booklet and reference guide
Students will be provided threads for use. Different varieties of thread will be showcased. You don’t want to miss this one.
