WOW! It’s already May! Did you celebrate May Day? There are lots of celebrations in the month of May…..Proms, Mother’s Day, Graduations, Derby Day, Memorial Day and probably more! There are flowers and gardens to be planted but don’t forget to take time for yourself and do a bit of sewing. Around here it is so relaxing to “forget” the world and just sew and create something beautiful. And don’t forget to bring your project in for us to see. We love to see what you are making.
And speaking of sewing…we have our Sit ‘n’ Sew coming up next week on May 10th. You can come and sew from 10:30 to 3 p.m. It’s free and we’d love for you to bring your friends and come sew with us. We also have one on the 24th of May too. So get your friends together and come sit ‘n’ sew with us.
Sharynn’s Stitching Friends will meet here in our classroom on May 13th at 9 a.m. Challenge Quilts are due in June. We are so excited to see what you have created. So be sure to put this date on your calendar.
As a reminder….we will be closed on the 27th of May for the Memorial Day Holiday weekend so that we all can have a relaxing weekend with our families. We will re-open on May 30th at 10 a.m.
We have received the newest Janome sewing/embroidery/quilting machine and it is on the floor for demo. It is the Janome Continental M17! We love this machine! It is an amazing machine. It has so many features that you have to see it to believe it. There are so many designs (1230 to be exact) already loaded onto the machine. And there are more designs that are exclusive to this machine on Janome’s website. These designs are from Embroidery Library, Urban Threads, and Sew Steady. There are downloadable projects on Janome’s website for you as a Janome owner. This machine has a 13.5” workspace to the right of the needle. Large sewing projects are easy on this one. With 850 different stitches, you can decorate anything you want. It has 2 touchscreens. You can edit, design, & create on the large touchscreen. Then when you are ready, the 2nd screen will allow you to fine tune your stitches, tension, foot pressure and more. This machine has a stitch regulator so quilting is a breeze and with so many different stitches your quilts will be unique!
Along with Janome machines, we carry a full line of Janome accessories. So when you buy a Janome machine from us, we cover you from the beginning with instructions, service when needed and needles, bobbins, etc. We are here for you!
We will again host our Fall In Shop Retreat September 22nd & 23rd. This will be our 4th year and we are getting excited. There are only a few spots left so you need to come in and make a deposit. It must be cash or check. You can call for more details. We have lots of fun sewing from 9 to 9 on Friday and 9 to 3 on Saturday. Don’t miss out on the fun!
